So far I've tried AirSet & 30 Boxes. AirSet seems more robust (can import my iCal calendars, cool), but 30 Boxes is MUCH better looking. Off to try Kiko and maybe HipCal...
I tried 30 Boxes and I really like it.
HipCal pro: Can be color coded.Allows alert both email and SMS.Allows prioritizing and completion check box. Cons: Very slow. Can't invite friends or share personal calendar when create my events.
I have to go to Group to create a Category, then create an events.I can see Group events under personal calendar. But can't edit even I'm the owner. In personal calendar,no option to create group event
Planzo pro: drag and drop made it easy to change schedule, better color coding events.Nice sharing calendar, the status icons with Private,None, and Favorites Only helped to see Private and Public
Cons: In personal calendar, can't invite friends when creating events. It’s a down side for setting up meetings. Left side tool bar is way too big and takes up too much space
CalendarHub pro: Clean interface,Easy to share w/ friend with subscribe and unsubscribe thu it doesn't have the icon Planzo.Allows tagging events like to categorizing.Viewing events with tags is easy
Have better control with Private, Group, Publish events. My friends will only see want I want them to see. I don't need to flood them with all my events
Best of all allows invite to friends (Attendees feature) with reply features and shows who decline and who attend. Great for setting up meetings and assess with attendees
Cons: Fall shorts on displaying events within the day. Can't set reminders for both SMS to mobile and email. Only one or the other.
Main draw back is with no color coding for different events, and no borders and wrappers, it makes it difficult to see individual events.
My opinion can be bias.Just to give you my background to level set things.I love OutLook Calendar by far the best, most flexible, and most feature filled calendar.I used that as the base comparison
I look at it this way, what I am doing today in Outlook, can these web calendar deliver. The biggest drawback OutLook that sit on home computer and I can't access it anywhere. Thus web calendar comes in
Overall, I like CalendarHub the most because it has what everyone has except the color coding. Beat of all it has the invite attendees features
CalendarHub similar to Outlook does a great job when setting up meetings and appointment. I need to know who can attend and what time works for them
A calendar doesn't only assess with personal time but also receive input from other schedule. So it's critical that a good calendar has features that allow recipients to react and response
I think CalendarHub is on the right track. I believed if CalendarHub address what I mentioned, they can be the Outlook web calendar
Re: Plans: "but can anyone tell us about the user experience?"
As the author, I'll try :) Plans is about 5 years old. In that time, the user experience has become pretty polished.
