We believe boys respond best to therapy when they are actively and physically engaged. As they begin to internalize and achieve balance with the core principles of work, love, and play, they begin to grow emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Every day begins with a team meeting and a work or play activity. Individual therapy and family phone therapy is offered once a week. Fridays are reserved for experiential outings and recreational therapy. All activities are designed to help students overcome personal challenges, enhance problem-solving, improve communication skills, and increase self-esteem.

At Silverado Boys Ranch they believe in treating the entire family; active family involvement is a critical component of their program. They do understand that love, concern, and frustration have led to the decision to enroll your son at Silverado Boys Ranch. While the staff at the ranch is dedicated to assisting your son with rebuilding and rediscovering a healthy sense of self, they are firm in their belief that an essential part of the growth process is family participation.

A significant percentage of our students come to the ranch with a substance abuse history. We believe that an important goal of the program is create an environment that is abstinent and recovery focused. Treatment goals will be developed for students who come to the ranch with a history of substance abuse. Substance abuse groups will be held as well as participation in recovery groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. All students will receive education and information regarding substance abuse regardless of their history with illegal substances.
